The Schnauzer Turns 50

sonovista, my friends... well, i'm finally 50... and it really doesn't feel any different... in fact, my friend Marjorie told me she said to her husband, David, on their drive home from my party, "so that's what the new 35 looks like" (i love marjorie)

in any event, i had an absolutely spectacular time at Olio Cafe where Chef Thomas Ricci took care of me and 50 of my friends... as expected, i was roasted to within an inch of my life, and i'll be posting some photos and video from the evening later on as time allows...

but one thing i have posted is the short 50th birthday film i made: "Robin Diane Goldstein, September 23, 2007 - 50 Years in 200 Seconds"... it may have taken 50 years to film and only 200 seconds to show, but it took me the better part of 2 weeks to put it all together... thank god for Photoshop and Final Cut Pro... in any event, the video (youtubish quality) is below, so enjoy... as i mentioned in an earlier post, the universe has tilted slightly on its axis (non-evil) and it looks like i have wednesday commitments throughout october... we may try to get a show in, or just pick up again with Schnauzer Logic 2.0, the second series, in late october... stay tuned, and thanks for all your birthday wishes!

(oh yeah... we lost 206-666-6540... a cock-up at the company that issued the number, its now been reissued to someone else... which means someone will get a surprise when they listen to the long/loud/drunken message that sheri and parviz left on the line during the middle of the party... a new number will be forthcoming... probably spring for the whole toll-free thing finally)

Great video Robin! It played like a 3-minute feature movie. Happy belated birthday!

Robin, what a wonderful video! At the risk of sounding cliched, it was a very moving experience. And the choice of music was inspired. I'm not a huge Cat Stevens fan, but that song really worked. Happy birthday girlfriend! Whatya say, another 50 years? :-)

Yo, Robin! That video gets better every time I watch it, even at YouTube quality resolution (which is what, like 16 pixels per inch?). One thing mystifies me: I've been through all 200 seconds multiple times ... and no schnauzers. How can that be??

Well done, RDG. Happy Birthday!

Very poignant, wrapping the thing up with juxtaposed clips of Little Richard and Rockin' Robin zipping past in opposite directions on their bicycles.

Wait a minute. You were married? Holy shit!
